Christmas Decorating on a Budget

Christmas, like for many people, is my favorite time of year. Colors seem brighter, strangers are kinder, and holiday decor has a one-of-a-kind splendor. But, between the presents, the parties, and numerous nights spent with hometown friends at the local bars (is that just me?), the holiday season can take a serious toll on your wallet. With Christmas spending on the up-and-up at an estimate nearing $1,000 per shopperit’s understandable that the in-home holiday cheer may be put on the back burner. This is where Christmas creativity comes in! With the abundance of discount home stores (i.e. HomeGoods) and online shops – Etsy and Wayfair to name a couple – the options are endless! Mix in the above with a little creativity and dollar store delights, and your home will be a winter wonderland in no time. Check out my finds/creations below for a little inspiration!

Merry Christmas!

This is the centerpiece on my dining table. Vase/Gold Feathers – the vase and feathers were decorations from my wedding. The vase is from HomeGoods for about $20 and the feathers were purchased at the day-after-Christmas sale at Pier 1 for $1 a piece; Fur Runner – HomeGoods, $20; Poinsettia flowers (center) – Target dollar section; Greenery with Pinecones – Dollar General, $2 each.

A simple and inexpensive way to add a Christmas touch to any room is a poinsettia. This poinsettia is centered on my coffee table. Purchased for $6 at Lowe’s.

Small banister? No problem! LED light garland – Wayfair, $15; Rustic Tree (unlit) – Wayfair, $20 + LED lights – Target, $12; Fur Tree Skirt – Target, $15; Lantern – Another item from my wedding.
